Cer­ti­fi­ca­tion of In-House Improve­ment Leaders

Six Sig­ma Certifications

We offer the tra­di­tion­al six sig­ma black belt and green belt pro­grams as either ful­ly online or as a blend­ed online & on-site option.

  • Six Sig­ma Black Belt Certification
  • Mas­ter Black Belt Coaching

Stu­dents study the six sig­ma body of knowl­edge con­tent in Gem­ba Acad­e­my’s online library, com­plete a project approved by their spon­sor, receive men­tor­ing from our Black Belt instruc­tor, and com­plete the writ­ten exam.

Lean Cer­ti­fi­ca­tions

We do not offer a sin­gle Lean Cer­ti­fi­ca­tion” for the com­plete lean man­age­ment, as this body of knowl­edge is too large, mak­ing it imprac­ti­cal. We work with clients to design cer­ti­fi­ca­tions that allow the par­tic­i­pants to gain the knowl­edge, skills and expe­ri­ence to prac­tice and teach oth­ers in their orga­ni­za­tion. A typ­i­cal three-tier cer­ti­fi­ca­tion is

  • Lean Prac­ti­tion­er
  • Lean Man­ag­er
  • Lean Coach

There are many ways to devel­op in-house lean lead­ers, and cer­ti­fi­ca­tion should not be a require­ment that pre­vents peo­ple from prac­tic­ing, but a good stan­dard to con­firm that every­one is on the same page. Some orga­ni­za­tions choose to fol­low a belt” tier struc­ture for lean that is sim­i­lar to six sig­ma, and we can sup­port this also.

Kaizen Event Facil­i­ta­tor Certification

Some orga­ni­za­tions may have pre­vi­ous expe­ri­ence and knowl­edge of six sig­ma, TQM or oth­er busi­ness improve­ment meth­ods, but not in run­ning kaizen events. When prop­er­ly select­ed, planned and facil­i­tat­ed, kaizen events can be a pow­er­ful way to bring peo­ple togeth­er to rapid­ly build con­sen­sus around prob­lems and how to solve them. We edu­cate, coach and cer­ti­fy our clients’ facil­i­ta­tors, who learn by doing along­side our instruc­tors across 3 – 4 kaizen events.
